Abstract

This study aimed to explore readiness factors of artificial intelligence (AI) integration in school education. To achieve this aim, the study employed the theory of the technology, organization, and environment (TOE) to assess its effectiveness in determining integration readiness of AI technology in school education. Adopting critical constructs of the TOE theory, the study designed a conceptual research framework. A correlation research design was proposed to test and validate the framework. The factors of the research framework were evaluated based on 466 usable data items collected randomly from secondary school students. The study finds a significantly positive relationship between each of the critical factors and the integration of AI. The study also finds substantial influence of each of the critical factors on the integration of AI. The findings of the study will help school administrators, decisionmakers, and academics proactively improve the critical determinants of technological, organizational, and environmental dimensions for the effective AI incorporation in schools. The findings also open up a new direction in literature in the area of AI integration in school education.
