Gynaecological Journal New to NISC

Based in South Africa and serving as a regional journal for Southern Africa and the African continent, the Southern African Journal of Gynaecological Oncology is now co-published by NISC. 

The Southern African Journal of Gynaecological Oncology is the official journal of the South African Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (SASGO), which is affiliated to the South African Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SASOG) and to the International Gynaecologic Cancer Society (IGCS). 

The Southern African Journal of Gynaecological Oncology is co-published with Medpharm and Taylor & Francis. The journal joins NISC’s ever growing list of fully Open Access titles. It publishes two issues a year and currently has 114 articles in 14 issues available for free download from the NISC website. 

The journal welcomes article submissions from all investigators in the fields of gynaecological and breast cancer, particularly by young researchers from historically disadvantaged backgrounds who are encouraged and supported to submit their research work for publication consideration. 

As a specialist journal, articles cater for sub-specialist gynaecologic oncologists, for other specialists with a specific interest in breast and gynaecologic cancer, including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, geneticists, specialised nurses and research scientists. 

With a goal to serve a broad readership, the journal aims to be the primary journal on women’s cancer for local health care workers and gynaecologists and focuses on all aspects of cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment. The journal seeks to act as a forum for the discussion of issues of local importance and of specific importance to the developing world.
